I provide a dietitian service that meets your or your child's medical needs, learning style, sensory profile, regulation and lifestyle. When possible I like to be hands on and practical with food and exploring it through sensory play, food preparation, cooking, supermarket visits, pantry clear outs, personalised recipes, food games or eating out together. This can suit face to face or telehealth

I have been an Accredited Practising Dietitian and therefore accredited Nutritionist since graduating from University of Wollongong in 2011. I have specialised in disability and paediatrics working across multidisciplinary teams and with many NDIS participants with a variety of diagnoses since 2020. I completed the Royal Childrens hospital paedeatrics course, CBT- ARFID, Responsive Feeding courses, SOS training, Talk Tools to name a few. I have completed extensive professional development in enteral feeding, blended tube feeds and neuroaffirming care. I am completing my graduate certificate in Culinary Nutrition at ACU.
Adults - We will discuss how to make the session work for your brain with any supports required. Main topics covered include your nutrition and life goals, current home, work or study, activities & therapy, medical history, medications, clinical symptoms (including bowels, appetite), food preferences, eating patterns and what you eat on an average weekday and weekend day. Then together we will discuss 1-2 easy wins or changes to work on until the next session that supports your nutrition goals.
Children - In addition to the above we will discuss growth history, current growth (taking height and weight if appropriate), feeding history, parent-child feeding relationship, mealtime routines and behaviours. For ages < 16 years it is recommended for parents to attend the 1st session without the child.
Its recommended to optimise time to send before your assesment NDIS plans, recent blood tests, 2-3 days of food and fluids, growth information or relevant specialist letters eg. paediatrician
This approach recognises that eating, appetite and mealtimes are shaped by sensory needs, nervous system regulation and lived experience - not just food choices or behaviour. As a neuroaffirming dietitian I work in a way that supports felt safety, body autonomy and a positive lifelong relationship with food in a way that suits you and your body.
We work together to create mealtimes and food experiences that are predictable, low pressure, respect your sensory needs and are realistic for your and your families life. This might include accomodations around routines, environment, food presentations and expectations. I support you in how you want your sessions and the service to work for you and could include nutrition analysis of your diet only, text message support, pre-recorded videos, phone chats only, sensory tools used in sessions, online supermarket grocery shop, sessions with caregiver or other therapists only, personalised meal plan, resource or recipe.
I have experience and training to see children and adults with ARFID who are medically stable (diagnosed or suspected and not requiring inpatient support) in collaboration with a GP and psychologist. I am not however an eating disorder credentialled dietitian so for other eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia Nervosa and binge eating disorder please find other Perth dietitians at https://connected.anzaed.org.au/
