Neurotypical and Neurodivergent kids and adults are all welcome with the service best suited for
- Autistic participants
- ARFID
- ADHDer's
- AuDHDer's
- Intellectual Disability
- Acquired Brain Injury
- Learning disabilities
- Down Syndrome
As eating, mealtimes and nutrition are complex for Neurodivergent clients a minimum of 5 hours of service is recommended to work on your nutrition goals.
Unfortunately there are no magic pills, foods, therapy or instant fixes for nutrition issues. Behaviour change is difficult so I meet you and your family where you are at and support you to recognise the small wins that add up to a long term positive relationship with food and mealtimes. This may not look eating a vegetable now instead its about but improving felt safety around food and a food range that meets someone's individualised needs and lifestyle over time.
This may never look like a Neurotypical eating patterns or food range and that's ok.
5 hours of service; Initial nutrition assessment 60-90 minutes, 2-4 x 60 minute reviews plus as needed nutrition analysis, reporting, liason with Doctor or allied health, resources.
5-20 hours of service; As above plus regular check-ins - fortnightly for 2-3 months or monthly sessions for 6-12 months. Suited to parent coaching, 1-2 terms of feeding therapy, support for a specific goal eg. weightgain/loss, nutrient deficiency, expanding food range for > 10 foods.
20-30 hours of service; As above and includes consistent sessions fortnightly- monthly plus travel time, personalised resources, therapy meetings. Suited to ongoing feeding therapy, complex mealtimes or growth issues, ARFID or a food range of less than 10 foods.
A collaborative plan of service will be discussed in your first sessions based on funding, goals and support needs.
